Description

This piece is from a series of girls on the beach and Beauty and the Beach was my favorite. I had fun mixing the pattern of her bikini with the towel and her hat. This has a different feel than my other pieces because it was done on paper with gouache, which has a watercolor feel, but it’s opaque. It’s just a simple composition with a girl by herself on the beach. I like the intimacy it suggests she’s having in the scene, enjoying the sea, the birds and most of all herself.
