I’m excited to release some of the new work I’ve created over the summer! It’s been a while since I’ve explored classic coastal colors, and I’ve absolutely loved getting back into this stunning palette, and adding some new tones! I hope to always keep my work fresh and evolving, so I enjoyed experimenting with these more contemporary coastal color combinations, collaging on vibrant backgrounds, and drawing directly on the canvas. If you’re familiar with my work, you will know that I don’t often use hues of red, but in this series I think they are working nicely. It’s that rich coral color, or the soft sea salt pink that so beautifully compliment the other cooler tones. The banana leaves offer their unique shapes again, as well as fan palms and hibiscus, interspersed with the wonderful texture of palm fronds. Some of those random abstract shapes and scraps I love working with are mixed into the compositions as well. I hope these make you feel as if you’re enjoying a cool breezy day somewhere close to the ocean!
